Another sold out concert. Carnegie Hall, big success of Chopin Society of New York.


"Oxana Yablonskaya and Friends" (15th December 2006)

The second great success of the Chopin Society of New York was held in Carnegie Hall’s great new auditorium, Zankel Hall, on December 15, 2006.

The program featured Oxana in the role of accompanist to her cellist son, Dmitry, performing Chopin’s magnificent, but rarely performed Sonata for Cello and Piano, Madame Yabloskaya then accompanied soprano Inna Dukach singing group of Chopin’s songs, followed by Oxana and Sarah Brady flutist, performing Chopin’s theme from Meyerbeer’s “Robert le diable”

The Inaugural “Chopin Evening with David Dubal”

The naugural “Chopin Evening with David Dubal” on September 29,2006 was held in the magnificent salon of the Polish Consulate of New York.

Dr. Dubal presented eleven gifted young pianists, all advanced students at the Juilliard School of Music. Their playing, nearly all Chopin pieces, took the sold-out audience back to XIX Warsaw and Paris, filled with romance, poetry and passionate music. Click to see photos from the event

The piano salon was full of enthusiastic lovers of Chopin and Liszt's music, and the reception to Mr. Kortus' pianism was enthusiastic. He received a standing ovation and subsequently treated the audience to a pair of encores. There was a buzz in the air as the audience was exiting. The Inaugural concert of the Chopin Society of New York was a tremendous success and a great launch for our Society. Oxana Yablonskaya made a magnificient performance with standing ovations and numerous encores. There is no wonder that the concert was SOLD OUT!

After the Inaugural concert the Chopin Society of New York held a reception, which took place at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations. The reception was in fact an official opening of the Chopin Society of New York. The reception was attended by diplomats, renowned artists and many other famous officials. Among them were present Ambassador of Poland Andrzej Towpik, Consul General of Poland Krzysztof Kasprzyk, Ambassador of Russian Federation Andrey I. Denisov, Consul General of Greece, as well as diplomatic representatives from other countries. Also to the reception came several famous artists like Byron Janis, Oxana Yablonskaya, David Dubal, Piotr Paleczny, Jerzy Horowitz, Janusz Kapusta and many others.
