Pawel Wrobel

Mr. Wróbel’s research and subsequent writings about Maria Modrakowska brought out from oblivion this extraordinary singer, a friend and collaborator of Alfred Cortot and Nadia Boulanger and had her name included in the sixth volume of the PWM Edition Musical Encyclopedia. His work on the singer’s life and achievements was a starting point for other scientists to further research, which resulted in exhibitions and other popularizing activities about Modrakowska in Poland as well as in Paris.

Mr. Wróbel was also the first one to prepare a complete transcription of Libro primo di arie passeggiate, a set of early Baroque Roman monody by G. G. Kapsperger.

Paweł Wróbel currently works as a piano teacher at the New York Conservatory of Music; his piano education was primarily shaped by Janusz Skowron, Head of the Piano Department at the University in Rzeszów, and Tamaz Svanidze, former professor of the States Conservatory of Music in Tbilisi, Georgia.
